My journey
I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art before beginning my career in curatorial and collections roles. Today, alongside my work as a museum professional, I curate independent exhibitions, collaborate with creative organisations and develop opportunities that help artists share their work with new audiences.
Over the years I've curated exhibitions in galleries and alternative spaces, worked with artists at every stage of their careers, judged open calls and helped create projects that celebrate creativity, community and accessibility.
Whether I'm installing an exhibition, reviewing applications or sharing advice online, the goal is always the same: to break down barriers and help more people connect with art.
I've always believed that art should feel exciting, not intimidating.
Too often, emerging artists are expected to navigate an industry full of unwritten rules, hidden opportunities and confusing jargon. At the same time, many people feel that galleries and exhibitions simply aren't "for them". I created Curated by Millie to challenge both of those ideas.
Through curatorial projects, artist opportunities, practical resources and mentoring, my aim is to make the art world feel more accessible, more transparent and more welcoming for everyone.
